Moving to California

April 29th, 2008 · No Comments

I just moved to California from Wyoming…talk about a shock! WOW!  I went from a hospital with just 65 beds to one with almost 400!  I’m freaking out a little bit.  It;s a great facility and I know I’m going to get lots of experience but it’s pretty overwhelming right now.

The perm staff seems really nice  but the other travelers seem stressed like me.  One girl,  Darcy from New Mexico,  was pretty wide eyed like me.  Nursing has always challenged me, and I think this is just another challenge for me to over come.  I like that since this is a travel nurse assignment,  I can experience the big city life in California and if I don’t end up liking it, I can move on to a hospital that’s more what I’m used to. It’s great! As for now, I’m going to try to learn as much as I can…and try to keep up. =)
